Ben was raised in the Durango area and grew up with a love for the outdoors of Southwest Colorado. He is a senior at Fort Lewis College graduating in December 2022. Ben is studying for a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems, with a minor in Data Analysis. He has a passion for data analytics and is looking to start a career in the field. He has gained valuable experience at the Clements Group, learning all about the world of finance.
Bill Clements was raised in Durango, CO and spent most of his youth exploring the rivers and mountains of majestic Southwest Colorado. He began working for his father at Clements Group while attending Fort Lewis College and attained his series 7, 66 and 24 licenses while still in college. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Bill went to work full time in the securities industry and in 2002 became a Registered Principal. Bill continues his role as a registered representative, second generation advisor, and majority owner of Clements Group. As an Accredited Investment Fiduciary/ Financial Advisor who has been in the industry since 1998, Bill utilizes a holistic approach, ensuring that client’s savings, time horizon, and risk tolerance all work together to meet their long-term financial goals in preparation for and during retirement. Bill’s particular areas of expertise are technical market analysis, portfolio construction, and client service. Overseeing a team with nearly 80 years of accumulated knowledge gives Bill a solid foundation for his well-thought out recommendations. The Clements Group staff spans three generations from Baby-boomers to Generation X to Millennials. Bill feels this, “Gives us a unique ability to both have a long-term investment perspective and the youth needed to innovate and continuously improve.” Looking forward, he hopes to continue his lifelong love with the outdoors through kayaking, skiing and golfing. Calvin Romero was born and raised in the mountains of the Southwest. A proud native resident, both his father and grandfather were hard miners in Silverton (San Juan Mountains) for a combined 25 years. His family moved to Durango when the mines shut down around 1985. Calvin attended Fort Lewis where he graduated with a degree in Finance. It was here that he met Bill Clements and their lifelong friendship and working relationship began. For the past 15 years Calvin has been an essential part of the group and now holds his Series 7, 66 and 24 (Registered Principal) licenses. He is currently studying to become a Certified Financial Planner. Unparalleled customer service is what Calvin promises his clients. He enjoys learning about his clients' desires for retirement and risk tolerance level. Extensive and timely research of available and appropriate investments help him to develop portfolios designed to reach client goals. Calvin possesses knowledge in many areas of the financial consulting business. He takes pride in producing excellent results for his clients and developing long lasting business and personal relationships. Helping people enjoy retirement brings him great satisfaction. He is looking forward to continued opportunities of growth within Clements Group. Calvin has 3 boys, who often tag along with him on a number of different adventures. He truly feels blessed to have an amazing job in such a wonderful town. His hobbies include: camping, fishing, hunting and hanging out with family and friends at Lake Powell!
Grant was raised all across the front range of Colorado and moved to Durango in 2019. The reason for choosing Durango was Fort Lewis College and skiing. Drawn by the free ski pass his freshman year of school, he ended up staying for more than that. The local community was a perfect fit. Now in his last semester at the Fort, Grant will be graduating with a degree in Business Administration, a minor in Psychology, and a certificate in Ski Resort Operations. He hopes that his time with the Clements group will expose him to a wide variety of situations that will prepare him for a future in the local workforce.
Hunter joined the Clements Group in June of 2014. Originally from Albuquerque, NM he moved to Durango, CO in 2007 to pursue a college education and to embrace his love for the outdoors, which includes a passion for fly-fishing, snowboarding and biking. After graduating from Fort Lewis college in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, he became a personal banker at Wells Fargo Bank. There, he developed great customer service skills and good insight into the banking industry. A desire to narrow his focus more on the financial markets led him to joining the Clements Group as an Executive Assistant in the summer of 2014. As a Registered Representative with the Clements Group and Securities America, Hunter wants to understand his clients on a personal level to make the best decisions regarding their financial futures. He enjoys doing technical market analysis as a basis for his recommendations. His goal is to understand many facets of his clients lives gaining perspective on “the whole picture” so he can serve them better. “I am a laid back financial professional seeking to improve people’s lives through the power of finance.” Hunter enjoys educating his clients about options to fulfill their financial goals. Hunter currently holds his Series 63, 65 and Series 7 securities licenses and is aspiring to become a CFP (Certified Financial Planner).
LeAnn grew up in Southeast Alaska and moved to Durango in 2018 to start college at Fort Lewis. She will be graduating in Spring 2023 with a major in Accounting and a minor in Data Analysis. LeAnn is passionate about accounting but will mainly focus on Taxation. She is broadening her knowledge in finance with this internship with the hope to apply what she learns into Accounting.
